Founded in 2005, the airline grew exponentially for a decade before ceasing operations.
According to Financial Express, the airline seems to have managed to get hold of the capital needed to revive the airlines.
What happened initially that led to the collapse of United Airways?
History
The airline being the first listed aviation company in the history of Bangladesh's aviation sector, was founded by Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury, along with other businessmen and entrepreneurs.
After obtaining the Air Transport operating licenses (ATOL) from the ( Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh ) CAA of Bangladesh, the airline commenced domestic operations on the 10th of July 2007.
With its headquarter in capital city of Dhaka, the airline connected other major cities in Bangladesh such as Sylhet, Chittagong, Jessore, and Barisal.

In addition to not only having the 5 MD-83, two Airbus A310 and three ATR-72 were used by the airline to connect various destinations internationally and domestically in Bangladesh.
Apart from poor reviews due to airline delays and flight suspensions, the airlines did have major controversies going on during its operation.
In November 2012, United airways were alleged to have inflated its earnings for the first quarter FY 2012-13, thereby reporting positive earnings per share.
Furthermore, the London court had ordered the airlines to repaint their fleet in June 2011, after the American Carrier United Airlines alleged that the airline had unfairly violated its trademark.
In addition to being barred from the Bangladesh CAA ( Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh ) for the selling and pursuit of aircraft, outstanding fees of around 770 BDT were demanded by the regulator.
On 6th March 2016, United Airways ceased all of its domestic and international operations, thus leaving thousands of passengers stranded due to flight cancelations.
Where is the Fleet of United Airways in 2020
With a fleet size of 11, the airline had in total 3 Airbus A310, 3 ATR 72, 2 De Havilland Canada Dash 8, and 5 Mcdonnel Douglas MD-83.
On ceasing of operations, most of the United Airway's fleet either grounded or parked at various airports around the world, except the 2 Mcdonnel Douglas MD-83 (S2-AEI and S2-AEJ) are leased to TAC Airlines and 1 De Havilland Canada Dash 8 (S2-AER) to PNG Air.
Unlike other discontinued airlines, there could be a possibility of United Airways coming back to the skies with enough capital to cover the operational and non-operational costs. But for now, we just have to wait and see.
